Siblings Together is grateful to the London Stock Exchange Group Foundation charitable trust for a generous award. This significant funding will enable Siblings Together to deliver three residential camps in the summer of 2012. The camps will facilitate positive contact between brothers and sisters separated by the care system through enjoyable, creative opportunities, supported by skilled care-workers.
Siblings Together’s summer camps are run at Temple Druid in Pembrokeshire. To date, in the past three years, 75 children (aged 7 to 18 years) have benefited from direct participation at these camps. Activities for the children include coastal trips, mountain-walking, horse-riding, photography, art-therapy, poetry and cookery.
Victoria Brough, a member of the London Stock Exchange Group Foundation’s committee, said, “The London Stock Exchange Group Foundation is really pleased to be supporting Siblings Together and the good work the charity does with young people in care system. In addition to its summer camps, Siblings Together holds monthly activity days for children in care at The Pirate Castle in Camden, led by dedicated trained staff and volunteers. Siblings Together is working in conjunction with arts and theatre groups on other collaborative projects for separated siblings.
